India energy hunger grows

GLOBAL Energy Ventures’ latest market frontier, India, is ramping up its energy sector with Cairn Oil & Gas to sink $6 billion into exploration there, Shell launching an energy start-up accelerator and the Prime Minister talking up biogas and coal gasification with Big Oil.

Wood Mackenzie also said overnight that the LNG glut will allow surplus volumes to flow into India, whose state company Petronet has already renegotiated long-term contracts for Gorgon gas and with RasGas....
