Aussie made safety phone gets fire rating

The Australian-made Ampcontrol IS2000 telephone is now rated to the intrinsically safe Ex ia IIC T4 rating.

As part of a regular product review program, recent modifications to the Ampcontrol range of intrinsically safe telephones have resulted in Group II approvals being obtained.

The Australian Communication Authority-approved system consists of an IP55 rated weatherproof telephone and separate barrier card. Features include visual incoming call indication, two levels of single push button alarms and full tactile feel membrane keypad for reliable, responsive operation.

The phones are housed in a robust cast zinc alloy housing and finished with a choice of tough, durable powder coat or epoxy paint exterior. The system can be easily installed and is compatible with any standard analogue phone network.

Very high speech quality and optional Push to Talk or Push to Listen handset buttons make these phones suitable for any noisy areas. The telephones can be used in a wide range of industry applications, including, petrochemical plants, fertiliser plants, oil rigs, petrol stations and paint storage facilities.

The Ampcontrol IS2000 telephone represents excellent value where a sturdy, reliable, communications device is required for a safety critical environment.
