Gas industry award winners announced

A wide range of gas industry individuals and companies have received accolades in this year's Australian Gas Association Gas Industry Awards.

The award, which were presented at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition, is aimed at acknowledging outstanding contributions to the gas industry and community by individuals and companies. Some of the fields included marketing, environmental best practice, communication and service to the community.

The Environment Award was given to Epic Energy for the Moomba to Adelaide pipeline upgrade looping project. Marketing and Communication award went to Origin Energy for the re-branding of Boral Energy to Origin Energy.

The Gold Flame Award went to Phil Harvey, former CEO of AlintaGas, for his dedication and commitment to the energy industry over the past 40 years. The Meritorious Award went to Stephen Hope, project manager at Wesfarmers Kleenheat Gas.

Finally, the Annual Young Person Award went to Evan White, a capital works engineer from Energex.
