FAR to drill first Gambian well next month 

FAR will spud a new offshore well off the coast of Gambia next month, in what will be the first well to be drilled in over 40 years in the country.

The Samo prospect has a best estimate recoverable resource of 825 million barrels of oil, of which FAR could receive 333 MMbbl net. 
 
Joint venture partner Petronas will fund 80% of the drilling costs for the exploration well as part of its farm in agreement. 
 
FAR will remain the operator throughout exploration period, then hand over the operation reigns to Petronas for development of the prospect. 
 
The well is estimated to have a 50% change of success.
