The Seawell is a 300-foot, DP Class 3, multipurpose vessel equipped to support a variety of offshore construction operations, including subsea construction, heavy lift, well servicing, ROV operations, saturation diving and surface air diving operations.

Under the terms of the contract, Canyon Offshore will support Wells Ops' well servicing, construction and diving contracts in the North Sea. The contract, which was signed in December 2002, will initially last for a three-year period.

Canyon Offshore will mobilize its proven Triton ST11, a 100-horsepower, work class ROV, depth-rated to 3,050 metres, and a Sub-Atlantic Super Mohawk observation-class ROV, onto the Seawell. The Sub-Atlantic Super Mohawk is a compact, high performance, electric remotely operated vehicle designed to undertake a variety of underwater tasks such as observation, CP survey, pipe lay support and NDT inspections.
