CHC rebooks Unocal's Thai chopper contract

Canada's CHC Helicopter Corporation - together with Thailand partner Thai Aviation Services (TAS) - have secured a five-year contract extension to service the offshore oil rigs off the coast of Thailand.

Under the terms of the deal, the Newfoundland-based company and its Thai partner will have their existing contract with Unocal Thailand extended to the end of 2008 and, pending certain terms and conditions, will earn around US$92.3 million. They will continue to provide two Sikorsky S76A and two Sikorsky S61N helicopters to support Unocal's offshore gas production project in Thailand.

CHC Helicopter Corporation has aircraft operating in 23 countries and has a team of approximately 2,500 professionals worldwide.
