Matrix, United Energy, Energy Development drop off S&P indices

Three Australian energy companies have been axed from a number of major indices after recent poor performances. Following the shutting in of one of their offshore Sumatran wells, and the corresponding slide in the company's earnings and share price, Matrix Oil has been removed from the Standard and Poors ASX 300 list.

Energy Development and United Energy were also casualties, dropping from the S&P ASX 100 list of companies.
