Third customer for Amity gas

Reversing a string of negative news from its Turkish gasfield, Amity Oil has reported it has started gas deliveries to a third customer and that its average daily gas production has lifted almost 50% in recent weeks.

It said an independent power producer in the industrial area of Misinli had started taking sales of gas from Amity's gasfields at Gocerler, making it Amity's third customer.

It also told the market its average daily production for the first three weeks in July was 3.3 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) compared to 2.4mmscfd over the two months of May and June.

Corporate reshuffles, slower than anticipated gas sales and bureaucratic hurdles have been making life difficult for Amity in recent months.

Major customer Levi was taking less than 10% of projected gas consumption at one stage, delayed approvals for an entry manifold were preventing deliveries to a potential customer and land access issues were holding up the pipeline to another.
