Indonesia's Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has warned that more foreign companies are set to relocate their Indonesian operations to other nations due to the country's worsening investment climate.

Businesses flee Indonesia for China, Vietnam

BKPM director Johnny W. Situmorang has revealed that more than one hundred companies are planning to leave Indonesia by year's end because of the unattractive investment climate, legal uncertainties, labour disputes, haphazard implementation of the regional autonomy program and inadequate security measures. While these companies were not named, 40% of them are believed to be Japanese firms. Japanese companies represent the largest investors in Indonesia.
