IBC Asia will be hosting the North Asia Oil, Gas & Pipelines (NAOGP) conference this year from 2-3 September at the Westin Chosun Seoul, South Korea. The focus of this year’s event will be on the Russian oil and gas sector, which includes the East Siberian Regions 2 and 3 and Sakhalin Island, and the opportunities and pitfalls which await an investor there.
Delegates to NAOGP 2004 will be given the opportunity to immerse in the latest information on energy supply and demand issues facing the North Asian economies. Topics of discussion will include the Sakhalin-2 project, regional energy cooperation in north Asia, east Siberian gas to north Asia, the feasibility of pipeline gas from Russia to Korea, the tax scheme of the Russian Federation, cross-border tax and structuring considerations and much, much more.
NAOGP 2004 is the idea conference for the likes of government bodies, senior company officials, energy companies, investment bankers/financiers/analysts, energy consultants, legal advisors, engineers, contractors and more.
Austrade has been promoting the region’s opportunities for some time now. According Austrade Russian senior trade commissioner, Gregory Klumov, “Business opportunities on the island are immense. They range from work available for companies and government organisations who supply products and services to the oil and gas industries to environment monitoring, building materials, transport, infrastructure and tourism services.”
So successful was Austrade’s mission there, it is now seeking interest for its fourth mission in October this year and it expects to initiate an additional two trade missions a year over the next five years to the island.
