Total mulls over Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran pipeline

A report in Neftegaz.ru, citing Iran’s Oil Ministry, indicates French firm Total is looking into transporting crude from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to the Persian Gulf via Iran.

According to the insider, “It is planned that the aforementioned countries will transport about 1 million barrels of oil per day to the southern provinces of Iran.”

“Five hundred thousand barrels of this quantity would be supplied according to a swap scheme and remaining oil will go as transit,” added the informant without elaborating further.

Total has yet to make a statement to the market on the matter.
