Oilex takes over at Cambay block

Oilex will now be responsible for all operations, including production, in the Cambay block.

As a result of the transfer, six former employees of Niko, and the contract field maintenance and security staff have joined Oilex. Operations personnel are based out of new offices in Vadodara (Baroda), near the Cambay Field.

Oilex now has 12 employees in India, led by New Delhi-based country manager and chief operating officer, Rich Paces, and general manager Tony Beckett.

Earlier this year, Oilex became operator and acquired a 45% participating interest – 15% of which is subject to Indian Government approval - in the Cambay production sharing contract (PSC).

It is also waiting on approval to become operator of the Sabarmati and Bhandut Fields.

Current operations in Cambay include completing plans for the drilling program and constructing three well sites for the first phase of drilling, which is now likely to start late this month.
