Hence when the title of his presentation to the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in Perth next month is, 'In praise of independent oil companies-The most colourful species in the corporate zoo', you can be rest assured he will include some interesting analogies to his E&P peers.

Doran will be giving his views on the importance and role of independent oil companies (not just Roc) and an update on the Cliff Head development, an independent success story with reserves in the range of 20-30mmbbl.

The September meeting of the SPE will be held at lunchtime on Monday the 8th at the Novotel Langley Hotel, Perth. The cost is $40 for SPE Members, $15 for students and $50 for Non-Members.
