It is understood that Coles Myer will reveal a partnership with Shell for discounted petrol at about 100 sites around Australia.
Under the scheme, Bi-Lo and Coles customers would receive discounts of about 2c a litre from co-operating Shell outlets.
A Coles Myer spokesman did not deny newspaper reports about the plan yesterday and hinted that the company would announce the details of the arrangement before Christmas.
