John Carroll, general manager, minerals and energy said the review resulted in the abolition of the division and said the following arrangements were in place:

The Titles Division will receive all proposals relating to petroleum activities and where appropriate, will refer the matter to the Authorisations Division for assessment of the technical aspects. Matters of a substantive nature should be dealt with by normal mail of facsimile (addressed to the Director of titles) with email used only for quick turnaround matters of clarification etc.

The Compliance Division will conduct all audits and inspections and enforce the provisions of the Act.

A Chief Investigator will be appointed to ensure investigations are conducted within a consistent and independent framework.

The statutory role of Director of Energy has been undertaken by the Director of Compliance until it is reviewed and more appropriately allocated.

Prime roles are held by John Carroll, GM minerals and energy; Bob Adams, principal advisor, minerals and energy; Jerry Whitfield, director, minerals and energy titles division; Richard Jackson, director, compliance division: Tony Waite, chief investigator: Subhash Chandra, director, energy policy and renewable energy; Gillian Jan, director, authorisations division; and Richard Brescianini, director Northern Territory Geological Survey.
