Phil Walsh of UK-based CRP Group is addressing the Society of Underwater Technology, Perth Branch, on the effects of VIV on Monday 23 May at 12.30 at the Emerald Hotel on Mount St, Perth.

The presentation details development, testing and use of vortex induced vibration suppression systems. This includes video footage of testing and computation fluid dynamic animations that visualize potential damaging current flow around a bare tubular and also the effect with VIV Suppression installed. The CFD work has been verified through full scale tank testing. Summary technical details will be presented.

The technical presentation will be approximately 50 minutes in duration with time for questions. Admittance is free of charge.

If you are interested in attending this presentation please RSVP to CRP’s local agent brianarnold@arach.net.au by the 17th May 2005. A light lunch of sandwiches and soft drinks will be supplied compliments of CRP.
