The agreements will let ENE move towards implementation of the program, including the ordering of 16 2MW generator sets for the site.
The cost of the project is estimated to be $A35 million, with up to $A15.4 million in funding coming from the Federal Department of Environment and Heritage Greenhouse Gas Abatement Programme (GGAP).
The project should provide substantial environmental benefits by capturing and using gases that represent over one million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per annum, accrdong to EDL.
Commercial operation is expected to start in the first quarter of 2006.
