Santos and Drillsearch tick off two more Tintaburra wells

TINTABURRA partners Santos and Drillsearch Energy have completed a further two successful oil wells – Mulberry-18 and Endeavour-12 – at permit PL39 in southwest Queensland.

In addition, Mulberry-20 has been cased and suspended as a future oil production or water injection well.

Drillsearch said Rig PDI-735 would now move south of Talgeberry field to start drilling four near-field exploration wells – Seagoon 1, Bingilberry 1, Zenoni 1 and Ziegfried 1 – which is expected to take about four weeks to complete.

Development drilling will continue at Endeavour field.

Spudded in mid-October, the Mulberry-18 oil delineation well encountered oil shows while drilling in the Westbourne and mid Birkhead Formations.

Wireline logging indicated 8m of net oil pay in the mid Birkhead reservoir unit.

Rig PDI-735 was released to the Mulberry-20 well location, where drilling started last Friday.

Oil shows were encountered in the Murta Member and the Westbourne and mid Birkhead Formations, whereupon preliminary wireline logs indicated 1.5-2m of net pay in the mid Birkhead reservoir unit with poor reservoir quality.

On October 21, Rig PDI-724 spudded Endeavour-12 oil delineation well, where wireline logs interpreted 8m of net oil pay in the Birkhead Formation.

A drill stem test over the interval 1303-1325m recovered 7.5 barrels of muddy water.

The well was cased and suspended as a future oil production well, and the rig released to the Endeavour-15 location.

The Endeavour-15 oil delineation well has been delayed due to maintenance on Rig-PDI 724.
