This year, the Super 14 has a new Australian sponsor, Investec, an international specialist banking group that provides a diverse range of financial products and services to a select client base in the natural resources sector. The company will be sponsoring the Investec Super 14 tournament in Australia until 2010.

Investec is offering readers the chance to win tickets to Australian Investec Super 14 games. When their local team has a home game, subscribers in or near Perth, Brisbane, Sydney or Canberra can write in to be in the draw to receive four tickets to see the match from premium A-class reserve seats.

Round 1 kicks off on Friday with Perth’s Western Force hosting the Highlanders, who hail from New Zealand’s lower South Island. On Saturday, the Queensland Reds will host the Hurricanes, who are blowing in from windy Wellington.

The other Australian teams – the NSW Waratahs and the ACT Brumbies are playing overseas. The Tahs face the Lions in Johannesburg, while the Brumbies face the Chiefs in Hamilton, New Zealand.

In other games, the Blues host champions the Crusaders in Auckland, the Sharks host the Bulls in Durban and the Cheetahs host the Stormers in Bloemfontein.
