Swan song as events manager sells AOG

Swan Exhibitions has staged major resource industry exhibitions and conferences in Australia for 25 years and has just completed staging the AustralAsian Oil & Gas (AOG) Expo in Perth, one of the biggest events of its type in the world. The company also founded and staged the New Zealand Oil & Gas Expo. Both of these events have been sold to Diversified Exhibitions Australia.

Swan Exhibitions’ managing director Shaun Smith said the sale of these events to Diversified Exhibitions Australia would allow the two expos to grow at a time when the global oil and gas industry is booming.

“We felt that a larger organisation like Diversified Exhibitions Australia would have a greater capacity to increase the size and international status of these events,” Smith said.

Smith said the sale of these two events did not mean he was leaving the oil and gas industry. He will continue to publish Oil & Gas Australia, which will continue to be closely associated with the exhibition.

Diversified Exhibitions Australia is part of the international Diversified Business Communications Group, which produces tradeshows, conferences and business publications. However, the Australian arm will concentrate solely on events management.
