LNG Ltd to spin off PNG subsidiary

LIQUEFIED Natural Gas Limited is proposing to spin-off its 66.7% shareholding in PNG-focused subsidiary Gas Link Global, by distributing shares to its existing shareholders on a pro rata basis.

LNG Ltd managing director Maurice Brand said Gas Link Global directors advised LNG Ltd they are considering a number of new opportunities and they should be finalised prior to a proposed application to the Australian Securities Exchange for admission of its shares, targeted for mid to late 2008.

After distribution Gas Link Global is expected to have about 1800 shareholders, cash of $A4.5 million, and oil and gas assets including a 20% shareholding in unlisted public company Papua Petroleum.

The record date and the distribution ratio will be available after the final receipt of satisfactory corporate and tax advice.
