BHP JV begins 3D seismic offshore WA

A BHP Billiton-led joint venture has started shooting 3500 square kilometres of 3D seismic in WA-351-P, offshore Western Australia, to mature a number of prospects for drilling in 2009-10.

Partner Tap Oil said 2D seismic data over the permit has identified leads with direct indications of hydrocarbons that give the permit liquefied natural gas-scale resource potential.
