Work starts for Otway geothermal project: Panax

CANADIAN company Quantec Geoscience has begun a magnetotelluric (MT) survey at Panax Geothermal's Limestone Coast project, in South Australia's Otway Basin, to determine the best site for Panax's first deep appraisal well.

Panax said the MT survey would cover 159 stations across the three main target sub-basins or troughs in the Limestone Coast area for the drilling of the first well, Salamander-1, in early 2009.
