Origin inks $169M carbon deal

ORIGIN Energy has sealed a deal with Carbon Conscious to carry out what is believed to be the largest carbon sequestration in Australia by planting native Eucalypt trees in wheatbelt regions.

Under the deal, Origin will pay Carbon Conscious $26 million for the planting of more than six million Mallee Eucalypt trees over the first three years (2009-2011), and licence and management fees
