Santos to beat analysts' half-year profit forecast

SANTOS expects to report a net profit after tax of $180-200 million for the half year ended June 30, significantly higher than the previous corresponding period and exceeding analysts' forecasts of $152 million.

The company said its higher profit guidance was a result of weaker analysts' forecasts due to lower-than-expected assumptions about net finance costs and royalty-related tax expenses.
