Surf's up for McDermott

MCDERMOTT has secured the subsea contract for BHP Billiton's $US1.5 billion Macedon gas field development in Western Australia's Exmouth sub-basin, the company's first subsea, umbilicals, risers and flowlines project in the country.

The value of the contract was not disclosed but work will include detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation and installation of a 77 kilometre, 20-inch diameter pipeline.
