CHEVRON has boosted its Western Australian reserves with its 20th discovery off the state's coast since mid-2009, with success at Kentish Knock South-1.

The latest discovery is off the Exmouth Plateau area, located in the prolific Carnarvon Basin.

Kentish Knock South-1 encountered about 75m of net gas pay in the upper Mungaroo sands.
