Metgasco well suspended, referred to ICAC

THE New South Wales government has suspended the controversial Rosella E01 exploration well and referred the matter to the Independent Commission Against Corruption, saying Metgasco failed to undertake "genuine and effective" consultation with the community.

The move follows a substantial protest campaign at the site near Bentley in Northern NSW and recent community concern that the well was clandestinely targeting the Ipswich and Nymboida coal measures.
