CSIRO soil checker to debut in the US: Video

A HANDHELD detector that reduces the cost and time taken to remediate sites contaminated by petroleum products is being launched in the US.

The RemScan device, developed by CSIRO and industry partner Ziltek, uses an infrared signal to directly measure petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil. It gives a result in about 20 seconds.
