OneSteel's timely $32M plan

ONESTEEL has lodged a preliminary environmental assessment with the Department of Planning and Environment to develop a $32 million pyrolysis facility in New South Wales, which will treat shredder floc.

The assessment is a timely one, considering the NSW waste levy relief for metal recyclers (which reduces the cost of landfilling residual shredder floc) is due to end in 2017.
