World-class costs no barrier to halved profit

WOODSIDE Petroleum has delivered higher production and lower costs from its global operations, but a profit slashed in half from the first half of 2015 mainly off lower oil prices.

Its net profit after tax was $US340 million ($A443 million) from production of 45.9 million barrels of oil equivalent, 9% higher than the first half 2015, although operating revenue was $US1.
