ARF gets biofuels order amid WA gas cut

THE Varanus Island gas supply disruption has proven to be a boon for Australian Renewable Fuels, which received a purchase order from an unnamed Western Australia company for 500,000 litres of biofuel from its Picton plant.

The company said it is expecting another order of similar size in the coming weeks, and it is working to have biodiesel incorporated into the customer's ongoing day to day operations.

Meanwhile, ARF said the recent increases in diesel prices had reduced the risks and exposures associated with high feedstock prices in biodiesel production.

The company added that sales contracts negotiations underway indicate commercial margins may once again be available to biodiesel producers.
