NZ lends a hand to biofuels

THE New Zealand government is kick-starting the country's biodiesel industry with a new $NZ36 million ($A28.25 million) three-year grants program for domestic biodiesel production and use.

Energy and Resources Minister Gerry Brownlee announced the move today, saying the biodiesel grants would be available from July as part of the budget 2009 legislation, due to be delivered in Parliament...
