Eni faces impairment of A$6 billion

ITALIAN major Eni has revised down its long-term price forecast for Brent crude by US$10 per barrel, and flagged second quarter impairments of €3.5 billion (A$5.7 billion), as it joins the other European oilers in pivoting its investment into low-carbon technologies.

In a release overnight, the company said the revisions sees a long term price of US$60/bbl in 2023 real terms, compared to the previous assumption of $70/bbl.
