Rio Tinto will investigate opportunities to replace gas at its Aluminium refining facilities, with hydrogen. The company is looking to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

It is looking to partially decarbonise its alumina refining operations and has received more than $500,000 from the federal government to investigate how.
