FAR informed the Australian Stock Exchange today it expects a barge rig to be on location tomorrow to begin drilling the 11,000 ft (3352m) SL 32-2ST well, which will test the J Sand Prospect on state lease 328 located within the Lake Long Field, Lafourche Parish in South Louisiana.

FAR said that the operator, Kriti Exploration, describes the J Sand play as a development test of the G, H and J Sands that are currently productive within the Lake Long Field.

The prospect will be accessed by re-entering the existing SL 328-2 wellbore and sidetracking from a kick-off point at 8,500 ft (2590m) to a bottom hole location approximately 1,400 ft (427m) southwest.

During the week, the existing number two wellbore was successfully re-entered using a small workover rig to set a plug at the kick-off point prior to the arrival of the barge rig, FAR said in a statement to the exchange.

Kriti Exploration estimates reserve potential at 3.49 billion cubic feet of gas and 553,058 barrels of oil.

FAR said it has enjoyed considerable success at Lake Long from all three wells in which it has participated. Its number six and seven wells - in which FAR holds a 22.2% and 11.1% interest respectively - are still producing both oil and gas into the central production system with Columbia Gas and Amoco being the ultimate product purchasers.
