DRILLING

Eclipse partners get extra time

The struggling partners in EP 389 in the Perth Basin have been given a further time extension by which they have to drill the Eclipse prospect. It now must be drilled by September this year.

Eclipse partners get extra time

Empire Oil (59%) and CalEnergy (41%) have been trying to farm out the Eclipse prospect for the last 18 months with little success and this is their second time extension.

The prospect is a large 557 bcf gas target but industry has been concerned about a lack of seismic coverage, and therefore seal integrity, over a strategic part of the structure.
