Shell spuds Exmouth Sub-Basin wildcat

North West Shelf partners Shell Development Australia and Woodside Petroleum, through their joint...

Last week, the Herdsman-1 exploration well was spudded and is currently rigging up wireline logs at 2010 metres.

The location of the well is about 170km south of the Woodside's wholly-owned Enfield oil field, which is set for development after Woodside this week asked shipbuilders to submit bids for the construction of hulls for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility.

Shell Development Australia has a 99% stake in the permit with Woodside holding 1%.
