Retrieval problems lead to P&A of CBM well

The Oil Company of Australia is preparing to plug and abandon its Durham Ranch No. 21 coal bed methane well 6.5 kilometres south of Fairview.

The well was spudded on February 18th and HWT coring liner was set at 510 metres RT before the well was suspended on February 23rd.

Coring operations were re-commenced on the 8th of April to a depth of 621 metres RT, however the rig was unable to retrieve the HW coring liner.

The rig remains on site to make further attempts at removing the HW liner and set the abandonment plugs.
