Cayirdere gas flow commercial: Amity

Amity Oil has said that the gas flow rates reported earlier in the week from the Cayirdere-1 exploration well in Turkey have now been tested as commercial.

Cayirdere gas flow commercial: Amity

The company said a nine metre perforated zone flowed 3.1 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMscfd) from a 3/8" choke.

The well has been shut in and suspended as a production well.

Amity said from the data interpreted the well had a theoretical Absolute Open-hole Flow potential in excess of 12 MMscfd.

The company said commerciality of wells in the Thrace Basin was achieved with flow rates in excess of 0.7 MMscfd. Cayirdere-1 was commercial with the flows from the small 3/8" choke and would be capable of producing at a higher flow rate with a larger choke, Amity added.
