Molopo / Helms to drill three CBM test wells

Molopo Australia has said it is planning to drill three coal bed methane (CBM) production test wells at its Queensland Bowen Basin project in the September quarter.

Two wells will be drilled at the Mungi prospect and one at the Harcourt prospect. Both prospects were production tested in 2001.

Molopo's share of expenditure will be carried by Helm Hydrocarbons as part of a sale agreement announced to the ASX in early April. The wells will enable the two prospects to be evaluated for development which, depending on results, could commence in late 2002 or early 2003.
