Acrasia-1 test flows 700 bopd

The first comprehensive tests of the Acrasia oil discovery have yielded over 700 barrels of oil per day for partners Stuart Petroleum and Beach Petroleum.

Acrasia-1 test flows 700 bopd

The Hutton Sandstone initially flowed oil to the surface at 90 barrels of oil per day through a ¼ inch choke over a 36 hour period. Importantly the companies said there was no concurrent water produced. During the original drilling of the well, oil was recovered in the drill stem but no oil flowed to surface.

The well was then shut in for a 60 hour pressure build-up test and is now producing 712 bopd from the Tinchoo Formation through a 3/16 inch choke, again with no sign of water.

Following the 12 hour flow test, the well will be shut in for a 24 hour pressure build-up test prior to the commencement of extended production testing. As announced recently, oil from the production test will be sold to Santos.
