Santos and Drillsearch Energy will complete the Gimboola West-1 as an oil producer from the Birkhead Formation within ATP299P, Tintaburra Block, South West Queensland.
Gimboola West-1 was drilled and cased as an oil discovery in the Birkhead zone in 1996 and is located 2.2km south of the Mulberry-1 well, which was completed as a Birkhead producer following a discovery announced in early 2004.
The program will involve completion, fracturing, installation of a pump and tie in to production facilities.
It is anticipated that Gimboola West-1 will produce at around 200bopd.
