DRILLING

Agonis-1 has something to show

The Perth Basin continues to perform for ARC Energy and Origin Energy with their latest well Agonis-1 encountering elevated gas readings in the primary objective Dongara Sandstone Formation.

Agonis-1 has something to show

Intersecting the Dongara Sandstone at approximately 2813m the elevated gas readings and hydrocarbon fluorescence were encountered over a 21m interval. The final extent and significance of the shows will be determined over the next few days following the drilling of the well to total depth and completion of the wireline logging program.

The well is located 5.5km east of the Hovea Production Facility, approximately midway between the Xyris and Mondarra gas fields, and is being drilled directionally to avoid clearing native vegetation at the vertical well location.

Interests in the L1 and L2 permits (excluding the Dongara, Mondarra and Yardarino fields) and Agonis 1 are ARC Energy 50% (Operator) and Origin Energy Developments 50%.
