Early strike for FAR at Lake Long

First Australian Resources (FAR) has continued the successful run for Australian companies in the US with well logs confirming around 32 feet of net gas pay in the Middle Hollywood Sand of the SL 328-1 well, Lake Long Field, South Louisiana.

“The Middle Hollywood objective was intersected at 12,615 feet and was accompanied by a drilling break and an increase in background gas to 1,402 units. The Middle Hollywood interval has not been produced nearby and is expected to have virgin pressure,” said the company.

The forward program is to run protective casing at this point and then drill ahead in deviated hole toward the Lower Hollywood Sands and the deeper Cib. Op. Sands.

FAR is participating in the Lake Long Deep Test well by paying five percent of the well (before completion) reducing to a working interest of 4.09375% after completion. To date, FAR has participated in four wells within the field, all of which have resulted in commercial production.
