Citing an official with the ministry of petroleum and natural resources, the report stated the discovery was at the Hakim Dahu-2 well at the Sonjoro block. The acreage is located 25 km from Sanghar.

According to the insider, “With the latest discovery, Pakistan [will] have an additional 400 barrels per day condensate oil and 15 to 16 million cubic feet per day gas [and will] substantially help reduce the import bill of oil.”

“However, its exact impact on the Pakistan economy is being worked out and [will] be formally announced later,” added the informant.
