Drilling is continuing but the partners don’t seem to be optimistic about finding anything significant in the secondary target zone judging from comments made by junior partner Voyager Energy.

“The result at Fiddich-1 is disappointing,” Voyager technical director Ray Barnes said.

“However Voyager remains enthusiastic about the remainder of our offshore Perth Basin exploration drilling program which will test other hydrocarbon kitchen areas closer to the proven Cliff Head area.”

Apache Energy is managing the drilling of Fiddich-1 on behalf of Origin Energy.

Interests in Fiddich-1 and WA-226-P are Origin 28.75%, Apache 28.75, Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd 12.81%, Voyager 10%, Dana Petroleum (WA) LLC 7.19%, Roc 7% and Wandoo 5%.
