Tomahawk completes 18 holes

TOMAHAWK Energy says wireline logging indicates the 18th well, Martin 1-36, in its Oklahoma project has encountered significant gas shows in the two primary objectives and numerous shows in secondary targets.

After reaching a total depth of 1255 metres, the well was mud logged during drilling and a full suite of electric logs were run. Based on the results, a decision was made to set casing for completion, Tomahawk said.

The well encountered numerous secondary objectives, including the Hunton Limeston at a depth of 1993 metres and the Cromwell sandstone at 1039m, while four potential intervals were encountered in the the Gilcrease sandstone at 873m.

“Importantly, the primary objectives, the Caney shale and Woodford shale both logged significant gas shows,” Tomahawk chairman Tony Brennan said.

“In addition, there are several shallow sands with potential to produce gas.”

Meanwhile, Tomahawk said its other two recently completed wells, Palmer 1-28 and Long 1-27, which both encountered numerous primary and secondary objectives, would be ready for completion once results were received from geochemical analysis.
