Rain dries up in Cooper

COOPER Basin operators Innamincka Petroleum and Eagle Bay Resources expect to restart operations at their respective projects now that heavy rainfall has stopped in the region.

Innamincka said the drilling contractor, Ensign, expects to start mobilising Rig 30 to the Flax oil field in PEL 103 early next month.

As a result, the first well in its program, Flax-3, is expected to spud a couple of weeks later.

Elsewhere in the basin, Eagle Bay says the drill crews have been re-mobilised to the Century Rig-3 and the roads to its PEL 182 permit have reopened following widespread flooding in the region.

The operator estimates it is about one week behind schedule on its Vanessa-1 exploration well, as Halliburton cementing trucks were unable to get to the site
