DRILLING

Junior explorer to drill SA acreage

AUSTRALIAN-listed GulfX plans to start a multiphase drilling program in the June quarter across the Syngas Project in South Australia.

Up to 38 drill holes are planned over the Beaufort, Whitwarta and Clinton areas in the Mineral Exploration Licence 3896. These include confirmation holes on existing drill holes and some infill drilling.

Seven drill holes are planned in the Whitwarta area, 20 in the Beaufort area and 11 in the Clinton area.

The holes will be drilled to an average depth of about 100m.

Drill core samples will be taken for coal property analysis, GulfX said.

Negotiations with drilling contractors and other related parties are well underway with contract finalisation expected shortly, the company added.

GulfX acquired the mineral exploration rights from its takeover of Syngas Energy earlier this year, and aims to produce gas and clean diesel from South Australian lignite deposits.
